Oithona davisae (Copepoda: Cyclopoida) is reported for the first time from the Marmara Sea and added to the regional
check-list of plankton species of Turkish seas. Seasonal abundances of the recent invasive O. davisae were investigated in
Büyükçekmece Bay from March 2014 to February 2015. O. davisae was more abundant at the coastal area of the bay with a
peak abundance reached in September 2014. While the average abundance of O. nana was maximum in September 2014, the
highest average abundance of O. similis was in June 2014.
